Electrolyte Lollipops

An electrolyte lollipop is a solid, individually wrapped confectionery format that carries electrolyte minerals instead of delivering them in a drink, powder or tablet. It needs no water, no shaker and no preparation. COUP is an electrolyte lollipop brand from Sweden that combines electrolytes and fruit flavour in a triangular pop designed for everyday life in motion.

What is an electrolyte lollipop?

An electrolyte lollipop is confectionery built around electrolyte minerals — the format most people already know as a lolly or pop, used as a carrier instead of a bottle or a sachet. You unwrap it and enjoy it. There is nothing to measure, nothing to dissolve and nothing left over but a stick.

The category is new. Electrolytes have been sold for decades as sports drinks, effervescent tablets and powder sticks, all of which assume you have water, a bottle and a free hand. A lollipop makes none of those assumptions, which is why the format has started to appear as an alternative for travel, commuting, work and everyday movement.

How the format differs from powders, tablets and drinks

Powders and sticks need a bottle, water and a moment to mix. They are flexible on dose, but they are messy in a bag and awkward on a train, in a meeting or halfway up a hill.

Effervescent tablets need water too, plus time to dissolve, and the tube takes up space.

Ready-to-drink bottles need no preparation at all, but they are heavy, bulky, single-use and often the most expensive per serving.

Lollipops are the lightest of the four. They fit a pocket, a glovebox, a kit bag or a carry-on, they are individually wrapped, and they keep well at room temperature. What they do not do is hydrate you with fluid — a lollipop is not a drink. If you need fluid, drink water. That is a real limit of the format and worth being clear about.

Why someone might prefer a portable format

Most hydration products are designed around a workout. Real days are not. People carry electrolytes for commutes, long flights, warm offices, festivals, hikes, night shifts, match days and school runs — situations where a shaker is impractical and a bottle is one more thing to carry.

A pop is also simply easier to enjoy. Flavour arrives immediately, portions are fixed, and there is no chalky aftertaste to negotiate. That matters more than product marketing tends to admit: the electrolyte product people actually use is the one they can carry.

What COUP is

COUP is an electrolyte lollipop brand based in Umeå, Sweden. COUP combines electrolytes and fruit flavour in a triangular lollipop format designed for convenient use during everyday life. The brand line is Lick. Refresh. Go.

The pop is translucent and triangular — a deliberate shape rather than a round lolly — and each one is individually wrapped so it survives a bag. COUP is a food product: it is not a medicine, not an oral rehydration solution, and not a replacement for drinking water.

The COUP triangular format

The triangle is COUP's own format. It is compact enough for a pocket, flat enough to sit in a wallet pouch or the front of a backpack, and distinctive enough that you can identify a COUP by touch. Each pop carries the COUP mark.

The flavours

COUP launches with three flavours: Strawberry Rush, Peach Lift and Lemon-Lime Charge. Strawberry Rush is juicy and familiar. Peach Lift is softer, with a sunny finish. Lemon-Lime Charge is the sharp, citrus-forward one.

The product variants

Each flavour is planned in two sugar variants: zero sugar and low sugar. Packs are sold as Try COUP (6 pops), The COUP Box (12 pops) and The Monthly Move (30 pops with the COUP Move Bag), which is also available as a monthly subscription.

Final ingredients, allergens, nutrition information and electrolyte quantities will be published on the product pages and printed on the pack. Final formulation information coming soon.

Who COUP is designed for

COUP is made for people whose days move: commuters, travellers, parents, shift workers, people who train and people who simply spend a lot of time away from a kitchen. It is everyday functional confectionery, not a clinical product, and it makes no medical claims.

Lollipops carry a choking risk, so children should always be supervised, and age guidance on the final pack should be followed. If you are unwell, dehydrated or managing a medical condition, speak to a healthcare professional — COUP is not a treatment.

Can you get electrolytes without drinking a bottle? Yes — solid formats such as lollipops carry electrolytes without any liquid. You should still drink water.
